| Date Registered: August 4, 2011 Number of Posts: 152 | Strange game today with Bury dominating much of the possession and having the better chances but we're run close in the end against a very average Yeovil side. Well worked goals from Schumacher and Skarz either side of a scrappy goal from Yeovil. Bury always looked capable of defensive self destruction which made for an uncomfortable afternoon, even though we looked capable of scoring everytime we broke into their half. Then came the strangest event of the afternoon. Giles Coke made a great run into the Yeovil box only to be hauled down, the ref pointing to the penalty spot. Coke and Schumacher then proceeded to descend into playground antics, fighting over the ball to decide who was taking the pen. Sodje pulled the ball from Coke's grasp and placed it on the penalty spot for Schumacher to despatch the penalty into the Yeovil goal. I'm not sure what Coke was up to but it probably had something to do with him wanting Gary Megson to see his name on the score sheet. Whatever it was, he was out of order challenging his captain like that. Both got booked. Second half, Worrall and Amoo both had chances after great passes put them through, both chances went begging. Our defence did their best to give Yeovil hope and with a few minutes to go gave them even more hope by gifting them a goal. This led to a nervy finish but we saw the game out. I don't think the blustery conditions helped either side look particularly good but it led to an entertaining spectacle. Shame about the fracas with Coke and Schumacher, as I thought they both played pretty well. Worrall was outstanding and the young lad from Southampton showed some promise. Another 3 points in the right direction. Dale next, so let's hope for another 3 next Saturday. Up the Shakers. | ||
